Parent Participation Update, January 2026

Welcome and update from Nancy, Parent Participation Coordinator

Dear parents and carers a very warm welcome to you all! I want to thank all of the passionate parent participants who have joined the project to use their insights on the issues of child exploitation to create better interventions and outcomes for affected families.

Over the last six months parent participants have been involved in-

  • Speaking at conferences to the police, safeguarding services and education
  • Meeting in person in Birmingham
  • Supporting Ivison Trust training
  • Discussing a proposal to the charity to raise awareness of and funds for child exploitation across counties and digital spaces
  • Supporting each other in peer spaces

If you’d like to know more about what the charity has been up to, please look at our annual Impact Report.

In other developments we are-

  • Making certain groups such as peer support spaces and the parent open groups specific to the kind of exploitation experienced. The feedback is that this is welcomed.
  • Going to be sending out a poll in the new year regarding the proposal to create an awareness and fund-raising event across different counties. If you want to get involved, please let us know what you’d like to do.

Here are some of the upcoming events and projects for 2026.
