Child Exploitation and Missing From Home Webinars for Parents and Carers

When a child goes missing, parents can be left traumatised and scared. Knowing what to do in these stressful circumstances, and where to go for support is vital. This session will raise awareness about grooming and child exploitation. We also consider what ‘going missing’ looks like. It is not always for days or even hours; sometimes a parent/carer may not even realise their child is going missing-all as a result of the exploiters tactics to keep their activities under the radar.

Learn about the Relational Safeguarding Model (RSM) and how this aims to support families and work in partnership.

Best practice approaches will be explored and information will be provided about where to go for support. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion.

Learning outcomes

  • Increased understanding of child exploitation and missing from home
  • Learn the indicators of child exploitation and going missing
  • Understand how exploitation impacts the whole family
  • Recognise how the RSM can support parents and support agencies in safeguarding missing young people
  • Understand where parents can get further support and information.
