Lindsay Dalton wins Inspiring Communicator Award

A huge congratulations to Lindsay Dalton, our Head of Training, Partnerships and Development who has won the Inspiring Communicators Award for Charity Comms.

Read why we nominated Lindsay for this special award:

Lindsay Dalton has been such an inspirational leader throughout COVID-19, revolutionising the way Pace delivers training, embracing new technology, significantly increasing our reach and supporting her staff to safely deliver front-line support to families in crisis.

As part of her role, Lindsay also oversees the management of 7 Parent Liaison Officers who support families affected by criminal and sexual exploitation in multi-agency teams in the North of England. Lindsay has been integral in revolutionising the way Pace delivers this front-line support, adapting home visits to remote, acquiring PPE and embedding a system of continuous communication for colleagues to reduce isolation.

Lindsay also delivers training to front-line professionals, raising awareness about child exploitation, how this impacts families and how to support affected families from discovery through to successful prosecution in court.

Before COVID-19, training delivered by Pace was face-to-face in cities across the UK. In a matter of weeks, Lindsay had successfully transformed and reinvented the way Pace delivered training to professionals to online delivery. As reports of online abuse and child exploitation were on the rise, raising awareness to a wider audience became even more critical.

Lindsay wanted to ensure participants had the most visually engaging training experience, so secured funding for new video conferencing technology which allows her to walk around the room whilst presenting. We have received consistently fantastic feedback for the delivery of our online training, with many participants going on to use successful techniques in their own organisations (polls, Q and As, videos, break-out rooms and guest speakers).

Pace has risen from COVID-19 a stronger, more robust organisation with a wider reach and a more sustainable future and so much of this this is down to the tenacity, inspiration and determination of Lindsay!
